A DIY Project <--- Arrows --->

I am sooooo obsessed with arrows in home decor, it's the new thing in interior design. This DIY project is so much cheaper than spending $25 dollars on up for a piece of wood. The best part about this project is that you can personalize it to how you want it to look like. By using a bit of paint you can change the look of the arrow to personalize it to your needs. Let's get started!

Here's what you'll need 2 long pallet pieces, triangle pieces of wood, duel temperature hot glue gun (I used the hottest setting), and pop tabs (just trust me on this one.)

To get started you'll want to cut out triangles out of any type of wood. I used some pallet wood that was precut like this, from my cousin's house. It would be really simple to cut pieces of wood at an angle. You could even go to Home Depot or Lowes and have them cut triangles out of wood for you.

                             You'll also be needing two pieces of a pallet taken apart. It doesn't
                                       matter the size, customize it to the size you want.

The first thing I did was hot glued the littlest triangle and the slanted piece together. It formed a bigger two-toned triangle. This will be the point for the arrow.

 Tip if you hot-glue on the back side of the point of the arrow, it'll make it sturdier.

 Next get a large book, and put it in the middle of the arrow. Line up the pallet with the book to make sure it is a square edge, and hot-glue the  pallet onto the point.

(This is proof that the Book of Mormon is awesome, it helps me with crafts and my life. To learn more about it check out https://www.lds.org/?lang=eng or http://www.mormon.org/)

Here's the arrow all glued together.

With the second arrow I found an easier way. I simply lined the long piece of pallet to the edge of the book and hot-glued the point onto the pallet. (As seen below)

Then I played around with the placement of the arrows. This was the placement that I chose.
Once I got the placement I need to outline where the points hit on the other piece of pallet, and I glued them together. Making it one solid piece.

Once it was a solid piece I turned pop tabs into the hanging things. You could go out and buy a hanging kit but I promise you pop tabs are a genius, cheap idea, and they hold up really well! All you need to do is hot-glue the tabs on really well.

Let the glue dry, and woolah you have beautiful arrow art that is like none else!

Enjoy creating!
XOXO,
Megs
